Over the past year or so, I have become a lot more familiar with the Sandlot Baseball community on social media, and live at baseball games. Sandlot Baseball is exactly what you might imagine it to be – a friendly, competitive league of baseball players intent on having fun, supporting their community, and safely navigating through a 7 to 9 inning game of baseball. There are tons of leagues nationally and new teams pop up every season. I follow about 100 or so teams on Instagram, including the Carolina Sandlot Collective. And recently, I read a post that I would like to share with you regarding an upcoming Sandlot event in Durham, North Carolina:
A few items of note. First, there are 15 Sandlot Baseball League teams participating, which is phenomenal. 10 games will be played. There is always excitement whenever great food and cold beer are involved. And the best part – all proceeds will go to help local nonprofits. Top it off, playing in one of the most recognized ballparks in all of Minor League Baseball – Durham Athletic Park, home of the Durham Bulls. What an awesome way to spend a weekend – beers, baseball, good vibes, and Carolina hospitality.

Pre the IG post, here are the 15 Sandlot teams scheduled to participate in the 5th Annual Sandlot Revival:
- Raleigh Reapers
- Carolina Kudzu
- Neuse River Nine
- Broken Bat Baseball Club
- Carrboro Freight Trains
- Durham Dirtbags
- Eno River Possums
- Durham Fruits
- Wake Forest Wombats
- Port City Pickles
- NY Sandlot
- Texas Playboys
- Buntcrawlers
- Nashville Ballhogs
- The Captains Club
Event is scheduled for April 24-26 Weekend. With Durham being just under 4 hours away from VA Beach, I am in the process of making plans to attend at least one day of the event. And if you are in the area or would like more information on the event, the charities that will benefit, and the teams involved, head over to the Carolina Sandlot Collective website or their IG page – Carolina Sandlot Collective.
