Sharing Baseball News – Appalachian League Looking For Bullpen Catcher

This Appalachian League post “caught” my eye this morning, no pun intended. Please read, share, and/or respond to the post the below if you qualify to be a bullpen catcher for this very prestigious summer collegiate baseball league.

Quick story – I know a ball player, a really good ball player, went to a high level high school, played himself into a scholarship to a D1 school in the Northeast, was a bullpen catcher for a Cape Cod League Baseball League team, the following year he was their assistant general manager, and after graduating from college went on to a career in baseball operations in Major League Baseball. Sometimes the path isn’t always a straight line, nor is it easy. But, if you can get a gig like this, you are one glove up on your competition and will definitely benefit from a summer of catching top level pitching. Good luck to all those who apply.

Per the Appalachian League’s Media Guide – “Founded in 1911, the Appalachian League is one of the longest-running baseball leagues in history. The Appy League is the only collegiate summer league under MLB and USA Baseball’s Prospect Development Pipeline (“PDP”) and is an integral part of the identification and development process for the USA Baseball Collegiate National Teams and other future National teams.
