Rookie spotted his good buddy from across the street, Rocky the Dalmatian, sitting a few rows over and went over to bark hello. Rocky worked hard on being a jokester and loved to make his pals, like Rookie, laugh. At the game, Rocky told Rookie about a prank at the firehouse where Rocky worked and the two neighborhood pals laughed a hearty laugh together.
Meanwhile, Nora ran into a new friend, Shocker the Dalmatian, at the water bowl stand. Shocker grew up on a farm, just like Nora, who was born on a farm in New Hampshire. Nora welcomed Shocker to join her in the stands along with Rookie, Dozier, and their other neighborhood dog pals. As Nora and Shocker walked backed into the stadium area, they spotted Rookie and Rocky. Nora barked, “hey that dog looks just like you, Shocker.”

“Hi Shocker,” barked Rookie, “meet my jokester neighborhood pal, Rocky.” “Shocker?” yelped Rocky to Shocker. “Rocky?” barked Shocker back to Rocky. Nora chimed in, “whoa you two look like brother and sister.” “Yeah, they sure do,” barked Rookie. “Say, where did you grow up, Shocker?”
“Asbury Park, NJ” barked Shocker. “Yeah?” yelped Rocky, “me too. I was born at Wheeler Farm down there on the Jersey Shore.” Shocker looked at Nora and Rookie and then replied, “I was born on Wheeler Farm in 2019, whoa this is too cool.” Rocky shocked Shocker again, “I was born in 2019, my Mom is Bella. Who is your Mom, Shocker.” Shocker, nearly touching noses with Rocky barked quietly, “Bella.”

Rookie and Nora got in on the fun. “Shocker, I bet you work at firehouse, like my pal Rocky here?” asked Rookie. “As a matter of fact, I do, I work here locally at Engine 78. Where do you work, Rocky?” Rocky barked with a ton of enthusiasm, “I am a proud member of Engine Company 33, right near the ballpark. As a matter of fact, a lot of my fellow workers are here just in case a fan gets hurt.” Nora laughed out loud, “whoa, you too siblings both got into firehouses to help our community. Now I have a question for you both…”
Nora barked, “what is your favorite way to spend a day off work?” Rocky yelped to his sister, Rookie, and Nora, “for me it is the beach. I love playing in the sand and catching tennis balls in the water.” Shocker shook her head and barked back, “well for me, it is a nice comfy dog bed in wonderful air conditioning. That firehouse can get really hot, and those house fires, forget about it.” All of the dog friends were so excited about this very random and satisfying reunion.

And the chatter didn’t stop there. Rookie and Nora sat with brother and sister dalmatians Rocky and Shocker for a few innings. Rookie was so excited for his buddy Rocky and Nora told Shocker to stay in contact after the game. Rocky and Shocker planned a trip back to Wheeler Farm in the fall to see their Mommy, Bella. It was an amazing connection and Rookie and Nora were so psyched to be a small part of it.
