Checking In On Rhode Island Players in Independent, Minor League Baseball

The Rhode Island Baseball Experience Final Swings – The Tee Ball Program

Most baseball players will tell you that they started their baseball career in a Tee Ball program. It is true that some skip the Tee Ball days and go right to hitting live off a coach or even further, off another Little Leaguer. The Tee Ball Program is designed to be fun, engaging, instructional, and to introduce players and parents into the world of organized baseball. What’s great about Tee Ball? Well, how much time do you have? It is a non-competitive, memories galore, photographer’s dream, incredibly family orientated baseball program that draws some of the largest crowds in most … Continue reading The Rhode Island Baseball Experience Final Swings – The Tee Ball Program

Red Sox Winter Weekend Back For 2023 In Springfield, MA

True baseball fans don’t care what place their favorite team finishes, right? I mean last place, first place, third place – no matter what place your favorite team ends up, you still buy the hats, the sweatshirts, the pennants, and all the great souvenirs at local retail stores, right? Take me for example, my Boston Red Sox finished behind the 4th place Baltimore Orioles in 2022 and I wear my Red Sox winter hat and Red Sox winter gloves to work every single day. I eagerly await news of free agent signings headed to Fenway and the hopefully resigning news … Continue reading Red Sox Winter Weekend Back For 2023 In Springfield, MA

The Sacrifice Present – Connecting Those That Have With Those That Need

In just about every level of baseball, the word “sacrifice” is used to describe a play or a commitment a player exercises so another teammate(s)’s situation improves in the game. There is the sacrifice fly, where a player drives the ball in the air to the outfield far enough for a runner (after the baseball is caught) to tag and advance to another base. In a close game, … Continue reading The Sacrifice Present – Connecting Those That Have With Those That Need

The Baseball GOALS Project – How To Start and Run A Youth Baseball Tournament

This past weekend, while I was lugging fence posts, dumping concrete, and attempting to install level stockade fencing in my backyard, I took a moment to drift into my comfort zone – baseball! I thought to myself – “How would I start and run a youth baseball tournament here in Rhode Island?” It was a nice distraction, brief as it may have been, from a tiresome activity which I was clearing overmatched against. Maybe you or someone you know is a league director or league volunteer and thought the same thing about organizing a youth baseball tournament in your city … Continue reading The Baseball GOALS Project – How To Start and Run A Youth Baseball Tournament

If your weather temperatures this week look like a healthy EKG reading, you are definitely experiencing the ups and downs of weather conditions in Rhode Island. Freeze warning? Come on!
