McCoy Stadium is the Family Friendliest Park of All-Time

In New England, we have some of the most revered stadiums and professional sports teams.  There are websites, fan clubs, team specific bars and restaurants. If you love your New England sports teams like I do, you watch every game as if it were a championship game.  And if you are lucky, you go to see them live at their iconic stadiums and arenas whenever possible.   Countless fans file into Gillette Stadium to see the New England Patriots play. You can expect no less than heart-pounding AC/DC music, screaming fans, New England Patriots Cheerleaders, almost 70,000 fans chanting “Brady, Brady,” and that’s … Continue reading McCoy Stadium is the Family Friendliest Park of All-Time

I am a proud parent of a Cub Scout.  He has been an active member of Pack 1 Sauderstown for a few years now and I have to say it has been an incredible experience for him.  My son has learned life skills, basic emergency skills, how to treat others fairly and with courtesy, fitness skills, just to name a few. He has meetings a few times per month with his pack and looks forward to learning new skills and being with his friends.  I couldn’t be happier about how Boy Scouts of America has helped make my son a … Continue reading Pack 1 Saunderstown – These Cub Scouts Are Learning Some Great Life Skills and Having Fun in the Process

Having Fun with Green Screen Tech at ICE Box Studio

One of the great editing tools for video is green screen technology.  Essentially, you have a green sheet that is used in the background of photography or video.  Or, it can be a black sheet or blue sheet.  In the editing process of the video, images that are either still or in motion are then superimposed onto the green screen to appear like they are in the video or photo’s background.  Check out this sample video on how you can have a lot of fun using a green screen. For more information on green screen technology or the ICE Box Studio, … Continue reading Having Fun with Green Screen Tech at ICE Box Studio

“Stars and Lights” – A Breathtaking Collection of Photos by David Zapatka

I feel so lucky to work in the creative world.  I recently attended a meeting about filming a documentary for the Rare Disease United Foundation at the Wickford Art Association.  At this meeting, I met a local North Kingstown photographer who works as a cameraman for national TV networks named David Zapatka.  After the meeting, David showed me and the other meeting attendees his collection of work, including his website of lighthouse photography. What I saw was awe inspiring.  Images I’ve seen up close and personal in New England photographed in such a way that I felt like I was seeing them for … Continue reading “Stars and Lights” – A Breathtaking Collection of Photos by David Zapatka

Beyond the Diagnosis – Art Exhibit Featuring Artists and Their Subjects

Imagine being handed a slip of paper with the math problem: 2+2=? Pretty simple, right? Most people would get the answer correctly.  How about a word problem where two trains are travelling towards each other at different speeds, and the question is where do they meet and who travels further?  Again, given the information, you and possibly a helper can probably figure it out.   Now imagine a math problem so complex that it takes 8 years to complete.  And, in the span of time you and others are attempting to figure out this math problem, a person close to you … Continue reading Beyond the Diagnosis – Art Exhibit Featuring Artists and Their Subjects

Cola Strong – Proudly Walking for Lincoln and Lucy in the Upcoming March of Dimes Walk at Colt State Park

-with Josh and Brienna Colacone Local North Kingstown parents Josh and Brienna Colacone have two incredible stories that continue to write themselves every day.  I was introduced to Lincoln and Lucy Colacone shortly after their premature births last year on a visit to Woman and Infant’s.  The care they received at Woman and Infant’s Hospital in Providence was nothing short of remarkable.  Angels dressed in nurse’s uniforms, hospital scrubbies, all working for the common goal of getting these Colacones ready for life.  And, as you can see by the photos, Lincoln and Lucy are ready for life.   Ready or … Continue reading Cola Strong – Proudly Walking for Lincoln and Lucy in the Upcoming March of Dimes Walk at Colt State Park
