When NBA Stars Decide to Rest, The Fans Lose Big Time

The Boston Celtics lost to the Cleveland Cavaliers this past week 114-91.  LeBron James played 38 minutes and score 36 points, grabbed nearly 10 rebounds and had 6 assists.  Another great performance by one of this generation’s most outstanding players.  I didn’t attend that game, nor will I pay to go see another NBA game for the foreseeable future.  And here is my reasoning: A management or coach’s decision to rest a certain player during a regular season game in 2014, which I paid full price for, has left a bad taste in my mouth and an empty hole in … Continue reading When NBA Stars Decide to Rest, The Fans Lose Big Time

Opening Day for Wickford and North Kingstown American Little League a Huge Success

Amazing turnout for today’s Wickford and North Kingstown American Little League Opening Day Parade.  Teams, coaches, volunteers, and families watched and cheered as the Wickford and North Kingstown Little Leagues marched together.  Kids of all ages braved the chilly conditions as they marched from Wickford Middle School, through Wickford Village and ended up at Wilson Park.  T-ball, Single A, AA, AAA, and Majors division teams lined up together.  Presidents Arnie Sarazen and Todd Mascena said a few words to the crowd. 2nd NK Teen Open Mic Benefits Pennies for Patients Charity

On an otherwise cold and dreary Friday night, a group of 8 North Kingstown’s talented teen musicians warmed the ears, hearts and souls of everyone in attendance at local North Kingstown High School.  The event was the 2nd North Kingstown Teen Musician Open Mic Night.   In organizing the event, my goal was to help shine the light on some of North Kingstown’s very talented musicians, singers, and songwriters.  In addition, to find a worthy local or Rhode Island charity to donate money towards.  I encouraged the musicians and their fans to bring in a small donation in an effort to give back … Continue reading 2nd NK Teen Open Mic Benefits Pennies for Patients Charity

Fashion Show For A Cause To Be Held At North Kingstown High School

In my continuing series of articles on North Kingstown High School senior projects, I can’t help but think of the totality of these projects.  Yes, the project is school work and the senior is learning organizational skills, business and marketing practices, and communication skills.  But there are many more layers to the long term benefits which these seniors will take with them throughout their lives, whether they enlist in the military, go to college, or jump right into the workforce.  Understanding a cause, embracing it, involving the community to help spread the message, and of course donating time and money … Continue reading Fashion Show For A Cause To Be Held At North Kingstown High School

Great Deals On Bicycle Clothing, Gear, and Accessories

Spring season is just about a month away.  The warmer weather of springtime motivates people to get outdoors, especially cyclists.  Active cyclists count the days until the snow and ice are gone so they can enjoy the best scenery in Rhode Island and surrounding areas.  This is also a great time to take inventory of your bicycle, your bike gear, and accessories. I have just taken in a nice inventory of bike apparel and accessories.  All items are either new in packaging or new out of box and have never been used.  This inventory was from a local bike store … Continue reading Great Deals On Bicycle Clothing, Gear, and Accessories
