Ebay Workshop at the North Kingstown Chamber of Commerce – Start with a Great Title

At my recent ebay workshop at the North Kingstown Chamber of Commerce, I discussed some of the successful strategies that have worked for me. I have been selling on ebay for about 10 years and was honored to speak to a group of ebay sellers who wanted to learn more about the basics of ebay.  Creating a sales buzz for your ebay listing starts with a great title.  The title of your listing begins to tell the story of your product and should grab the attention of your potential buyer.  Here are some tips on writing a great title for your product on … Continue reading Ebay Workshop at the North Kingstown Chamber of Commerce – Start with a Great Title

Thinking of Upgrading to Windows 10? Be on the lookout for scams.

Beware of a serious threat via a spam campaign spoofing Microsoft and ultimately dropping dangerous “Ransomware” on users’ computers. Researchers at Cisco TALOS said on Friday they spotted spam carrying an attachment from an email address in Thailand spoofing update at Microsoft.com. Users who download and execute the files inside the zip archive are hit by the CTB-Locker brand of ransomware. The spam emails may trick victims into thinking this is their notification from Microsoft to upgrade; legitimate upgrades are done via download, not email, Microsoft said. If you see an email similar to the one above, DO NOT DOWNLOAD. Rhode Island PC is currently … Continue reading Thinking of Upgrading to Windows 10? Be on the lookout for scams.

Rhode Island Lifeguard Tournament Showcases The Best and Most Capable Lifeguards Guarding Our Beaches

Whether you are new to RI or have lived here your entire life, most will agree that Rhode Island has some of the most incredible beaches on the east coast, perhaps the entire USA.  These amazing beaches range from cove type beaches (which are great for families and have little to no surf) to surf beaches, which attract tons of beach goers, surfers, photographers, and nature lovers.  The surf beaches do have added risk due to potentially high surf, dangerous undertow at times, and the high volume of people on the beach itself.  The safety of the surf and the … Continue reading Rhode Island Lifeguard Tournament Showcases The Best and Most Capable Lifeguards Guarding Our Beaches

Print World, A North Kingstown Printing Resource and Community Leader Since 1991

When you watch a Major League Baseball game, the majority of viewers will say “I’m watching the Red Sox vs. the Astros.”  Well, in Wickford Little League, the majority of viewers, player, coaches, and fans say “Print World is facing NDK Dental” or “Launch Trampoline Park is facing Dave’s Marketplace.”  Sponsoring local youth sports is not a new concept in any way.  I still remember my team, FOP, playing the Tarbox Motors Gremlins some 20 or so years ago in Wickford Little League.  The sponsor’s name just sticks with you and is a great way to advertise your services locally.  And … Continue reading Print World, A North Kingstown Printing Resource and Community Leader Since 1991

BrUOG – Brown University Oncology Research Group Event at Quidnessett Country Club

To say I grew up in a household filled with medical professionals would be about as accurate as the Red Sox need Pedro to suit up his number 45 and pitch us out of this slump.  Both of my parents were active in medicine for close to 40 years and have provided me with countless volumes of their hands-on medical knowledge.  To say that cancer has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember would, sadly, be equally as accurate. I lost my nanny to cancer, have lost high school friends to cancer, and currently … Continue reading BrUOG – Brown University Oncology Research Group Event at Quidnessett Country Club

Steve Smith and the Nakeds To Perform at the Narragansett Seafood Festival

Being musically gifted is one thing.  Being entertaining in your living room with your family cheering you on is one thing.  Being musically gifted and able to entertain a large crowd is a combination that many attempt but few can pull off.  Musicians can be socially awkward and misunderstood. And in front of a crowded arena or nightclub, this may drive a wedge between the musician and the crowd.  A crowd, especially a paying crowd, want to be entertained not only by the music but also by the musician(s).  This is often the role of the front man and most often … Continue reading Steve Smith and the Nakeds To Perform at the Narragansett Seafood Festival

A. Barnes Creative – Focusing on Creating Great Looking Graphics for Small Businesses

I have the utmost respect for musicians, carpenters, and artists.  They can take a vision or a concept and make something incredible for all to see, hear, and experience.   In the world of website design, graphic artists use images and text to create beautiful logos, websites, and marketing materials for all of the world to see, especially the business world.  A well designed logo and website can separate you from your competition and show the world that you mean business and you want the world to shop at your business.   A skilled graphic artist can take your basic … Continue reading A. The NK Blog Welcomes Richard Park and Right Response – Responsible Fundraising

If you have a child in Boy Scouts, like I do, you are familiar with the annual popcorn sale fundraiser.  It features a catalog of various popcorn treats and the proceeds goes to fund programming by my son’s local Boy Scout troop.  Popcorn selling is just one of many fundraising options available. The Boy Scouts, local PTA groups, youth sports leagues, and of course the Girl Scouts all have catalogs of candles, cookies, and other items that are handed out to teachers, uncles, grandmothers, and the old fashioned way – door to door. In my latest blog article about local … Continue reading The NK Blog Welcomes Richard Park and Right Response – Responsible Fundraising
