Opening Day for Wickford and North Kingstown American Little League a Huge Success

Amazing turnout for today’s Wickford and North Kingstown American Little League Opening Day Parade.  Teams, coaches, volunteers, and families watched and cheered as the Wickford and North Kingstown Little Leagues marched together.  Kids of all ages braved the chilly conditions as they marched from Wickford Middle School, through Wickford Village and ended up at Wilson Park.  T-ball, Single A, AA, AAA, and Majors division teams lined up together.  Presidents Arnie Sarazen and Todd Mascena said a few words to the crowd. 2nd NK Teen Open Mic Benefits Pennies for Patients Charity

NK High School Senior Sara Barker’s Rally for the Jimmy Fund

Since 1948, The Jimmy Fund has raised millions of dollars in support of the Dana Farber Institute in Boston.  Hundreds of local and national organizations, golf tournaments, road races, and local bake sales have helped raise money for this worthy charity.  It is the official charity of the Boston Red Sox.  According to the official website of the Jimmy Fund, http://www.jimmyfund.org, “The Jimmy Fund solely supports Boston’s Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, raising funds for adult and pediatric cancer care and research to improve the chances of survival for cancer patients around the world.” The boy (Einar Gustafson) known to all as … Continue reading NK High School Senior Sara Barker’s Rally for the Jimmy Fund

What do you get when you have a talented cast of actors, musicians, and production staff coupled with brilliant leadership by the teachers at North Kingstown High School? 2nd NK Teen Open Mic Night To Benefit Pennies For Patients Charity

Back in early November, a number of teens, parents, and musicians gathered at the Cold Spring Community Center.  The theme of the night was to promote the talented youth musicians located right here in North Kingstown and to raise money for a great local charity – The North Kingstown Special Olympics.  Teens sang, played guitar, laughed, and cheered for one and other in the 2 hour event hosted by the North Kingstown Marketing Company.  After a very successful and fun night, the total donation amount came to $205.50, which was then presented to the North Kingstown Special Olympics.  It was … Continue reading 2nd NK Teen Open Mic Night To Benefit Pennies For Patients Charity
