Newport RI: The Series had its pilot premiere last night, Saturday September 27, at the Casino Theater in Newport. The event was attended by members of the cast, the producers, writers, local art enthusiasts, and the rest of us who were more than intrigued by what this series was about. My company, the I.C.E. Agency, recently shot a video that will be part of a national campaign to raise awareness about stress and cancer. The subject of the video, Monique Pichette, is a two time cancer survivor who loves working out, her family and friends, and being a source of strength in the cancer community. We chose to film it at her health club where she trains. It was a fitting setting for Monique, as she battled cancer using positive vibes and fitness, working out even while on chemotherapy. The Allman Brothers Band recently played their final show as a band. This final concert took place at a very familiar venue for the band, the Beacon Theatre in New York City. Original band members Gregg Allman, Butch Trucks, and “Jaimoe” Johanson were joined onstage by longtime contributors such as Derek Trucks (Tedeschi Trucks Band) and Warren Haynes (Gov’t Mule) in addition to other musicians who have filled in on various instruments over the years.
