Having Fun with Green Screen Tech at ICE Box Studio

One of the great editing tools for video is green screen technology.  Essentially, you have a green sheet that is used in the background of photography or video.  Or, it can be a black sheet or blue sheet.  In the editing process of the video, images that are either still or in motion are then superimposed onto the green screen to appear like they are in the video or photo’s background.  Check out this sample video on how you can have a lot of fun using a green screen. For more information on green screen technology or the ICE Box Studio, … Continue reading Having Fun with Green Screen Tech at ICE Box Studio

“Stars and Lights” – A Breathtaking Collection of Photos by David Zapatka

I feel so lucky to work in the creative world.  I recently attended a meeting about filming a documentary for the Rare Disease United Foundation at the Wickford Art Association.  At this meeting, I met a local North Kingstown photographer who works as a cameraman for national TV networks named David Zapatka.  After the meeting, David showed me and the other meeting attendees his collection of work, including his website of lighthouse photography. What I saw was awe inspiring.  Images I’ve seen up close and personal in New England photographed in such a way that I felt like I was seeing them for … Continue reading “Stars and Lights” – A Breathtaking Collection of Photos by David Zapatka

Cigars and Guitars – A Jammin’ Good Time at the Carriage Inn & Saloon

At the Carriage Inn & Saloon in North Kingstown, an age old tradition is being revisited.  Musicians come together to play and share their love of music – no amplifiers, no guitar effects, just acoustic instruments.  Instruments like the acoustic guitar, bass, mandolin, harmonica, and of course singing voices of all pitches.  The jam session is called “Cigars and Guitars” and it takes place at the North Kingstown restaurant either indoors (minus the cigars) in bad weather or outdoors in the more seasonal times.   It takes place on a Monday night, when the restaurant itself is not open for regular … Continue reading Cigars and Guitars – A Jammin’ Good Time at the Carriage Inn & Saloon
