Working Out in October – The Concept2 Rower At West Bay YMCA

Fall is here, the weather is getting cooler, outdoor pools are closing, and exercisers are turning their attention towards working out indoors.  This month on the North Kingstown Blog, I will be focusing on working out – off season training for baseball players, indoors at a fitness center, or some exercises you can do in your living room watching football.  I will be interviewing local personal trainers as well as visiting local health clubs to learn more about “Working Out in October.” As a longtime member of the YMCA, (my local Y is West Bay right here in North Kingstown) … Continue reading Working Out in October – The Concept2 Rower At West Bay YMCA

North Kingstown’s Tony C’s Restaurant Set To Re-Open Dining Room Thursday Night

The North Kingstown Blog did a feature over the summer on North Kingstown’s Tony C’s Restaurant.  The staff was kind enough to give me a tour of the bar area as well as the dining room, which was not open to the public at that time.  This dining room is large enough for big parties – receptions, reunions, birthdays, etc.  Also, Chef John Bordieri prepared a delicious lunch sample for Rachel and myself, which was outstanding!!!  Owner John Cioe messaged me yesterday with the news that the main dining room would be re-opening this Thursday, October 1st.  Chef John (Bordieri) … Continue reading North Kingstown’s Tony C’s Restaurant Set To Re-Open Dining Room Thursday Night

The North End of North Kingstown Welcomes You To Shop, Eat, Play, and Relax

According to public records, North Kingstown is about 58 square miles – 44 land miles and 14 water.  In North Kingstown, there is a lot of focus on Wickford Village, a place where festivals are held, concerts are performed, and colonial history meets modern day life. If you are active on social media pages about North Kingstown politics, businesses, and events, you will find discussions aplenty about Wickford Village and its prominence in the eyes of North Kingstown residents.  There are discussions, sometimes heated and unsubstantiated from those who live and work outside the village.  Some write “I do not live … Continue reading The North End of North Kingstown Welcomes You To Shop, Eat, Play, and Relax

Dear Potential Business Owner Looking for Commercial Space

I take tons of pictures when I’m in Wickford.  It doesn’t matter what season it is, I find Wickford Village to be one of the most picturesque spots in all of Rhode Island.  I have friends and family that are from North Kingstown as well as other friends who came from out of state to work here, and have since moved away.  I share my photos on social media with the caption “This view never gets old.” However, one view that is getting entirely too old is the “For Sale” or “For Lease” signs that are prominent in Wickford Village. … Continue reading Dear Potential Business Owner Looking for Commercial Space

Whiteboard Videos Tell Your Story With Flair, Music, and Get Results

A whiteboard animated video is a creative means of marketing that is highly effective.  Whiteboard videos are used to describe and educate and grab the attention of the viewer.  Whiteboard videos include text, animation, sometimes movement, sometimes music.  Their messages are very similar to print ads or commercials on the internet or TV.  Most of these videos are short in length and are aimed at grabbing your attention and then directing you to a call to action – an email address, a website, a sale.    In the videos, you can lay out text and imagery similar to a static … Continue reading Whiteboard Videos Tell Your Story With Flair, Music, and Get Results
