Your Business Logo on the Banner High Above West Main St. – Is It Possible?

At times during the year, I will drive from my office on Post Rd into Wickford and see a large banner hanging high on the National Grid wires just outside the entrance to Centreville Bank and Wilson Park.  This banner has a fantastic location, high above West Main St. with Centreville Bank on the right and town favorite Wilson Park on the left.  The banner lets walkers, cyclists, and motorists know about upcoming events, such as the recent Wickford Art Festival.  I have contacted several people with knowledge of the banner and have received some great responses and feedback.  From what I … Continue reading Your Business Logo on the Banner High Above West Main St. – Is It Possible?

Loon Mountain – Family Fun, Spectacular Views, A Resort Town for All Seasons

My family and I recently spent a week up in Loon Mountain in Lincoln, NH.  It is about a 3 hour drive to Loon, roughly 200 miles from North Kingstown to Exit 32 off Route 93 in NH.  A comfortable distance for a family vacation which included 2 adults, 2 dogs, and 5 boys.  We stayed just on the outskirts of the Village of Loon, a very tourist friendly community village with plenty of souvenir shops, restaurants, and local retail stores to fit the needs of tourists year round.  From the moment we exited onto Route 112 in Lincoln, the … Continue reading Loon Mountain – Family Fun, Spectacular Views, A Resort Town for All Seasons

Stephen J. Kareemo Plaque on the Quonset Bike Path

I have really enjoyed the Quonset Bike Path over the past few years.  At the end of the Quonset Bike Path, there is a turnaround.  In the turnaround is a plaque that has the name Stephen J. Kareemo.     I reached out to a few representatives from the Town of North Kingstown, which led me to a newsletter from the Quonset Development Corporation or QDC some  time back.  The newsletter mentioned the honoree’s family, notably brother David Kareemo.  I was able to contact David and he provided me with the following quote about the plaque.  Here is David Kareemo’s quote: … Continue reading Stephen J. Ebay Workshop at the North Kingstown Chamber of Commerce – Start with a Great Title

At my recent ebay workshop at the North Kingstown Chamber of Commerce, I discussed some of the successful strategies that have worked for me. I have been selling on ebay for about 10 years and was honored to speak to a group of ebay sellers who wanted to learn more about the basics of ebay.  Creating a sales buzz for your ebay listing starts with a great title.  The title of your listing begins to tell the story of your product and should grab the attention of your potential buyer.  Here are some tips on writing a great title for your product on … Continue reading Ebay Workshop at the North Kingstown Chamber of Commerce – Start with a Great Title

The B-52’s Foreshadows Online Dating Craze in 1983 Hit Song

I have been a fan of 1980’s music since, well the 1980’s.  The 1980’s was a transitional decade in music from the rock and roll 1960’s to the disco heavy 1970’s.  1980’s music was as diverse as any musical decade I can recall.  Bands were expressing themselves in ways that were truly never accepted in earlier decades.  As a result, an entirely new wave of musicians emerged that included clever songwriters, synthesizers galore, and the artists themselves expressing their personal choices more freely than ever.  The “Are You Going To San Francisco” 1960’s world of the long haired hippee woman was … Continue reading The B-52’s Foreshadows Online Dating Craze in 1983 Hit Song

The Next Stop on My Golf Odyssey I Call “Finding my Swing” – The North Kingstown Golf Course

Armed with my lessons from neighbor and golf expert, Ian Manning from Orthocore PT, I continued my golfing tour of North Kingstown at the North Kingstown Golf Course.  It was the Friday prior to Memorial Day and the weather conditions were absolutely ideal for golf.  The place was mobbed and I was thrilled that an open spot on the back nine was available.  I grabbed my clubs, laced up my shoes, did some thoracic stretches, and teed off. I have played the North Kingstown Golf Course front nine a few times but not the back nine.  I was relieved to … Continue reading The Next Stop on My Golf Odyssey I Call “Finding my Swing” – The North Kingstown Golf Course

Batman – The Dark Knight is Up Against Joker Once Again

“You either die a hero, or you live long enough to see yourself become the villain,” is a quote from “Batman – The Dark Knight.” This movie starts out with a bank robbery from The Joker (played by the late Heath Ledger) and his goons.   He believes “that whatever doesn’t kill you, certainty makes you stranger.” And with Bruce Wayne a.k.a the bat crusader Batman (played by Christian bale) what he wants is to keep one person from danger, Rachel Dawes.  Now that Rachel is with Harvey Dent (played by Aaron Eckhart) Batman feels that she is a little more at ease. … Continue reading Batman – The Dark Knight is Up Against Joker Once Again
