Fastball, Fly Balls, and Freezing Temps – The College Baseball 2026 Experience Starts Today

The 2026 NCAA College Baseball Season (for many) begins today nationwide. Teams from Maine to Michigan, Florida to New Mexico are playing collegiate baseball games, many in less than desirable temperatures. Despite the cold in some spots, college ball players will hit the field with high hopes as their fans hit the bleachers with hot chocolate and blankets. It is an exciting time of year for players, coaches, families, and baseball fans (like myself) who love collegiate baseball. Here are a few schools posting Game Day messages on their Instagram pages recently that caught my attention:

Locally here in Hampton Roads, I will be tracking a number of collegiate baseball teams as they begin their 2026 NCAA baseball schedule. And plan on attending as many live games as my schedule permits. Let the games begin!
