This past week, I was in Dallas, Texas for work (ArcBest) and found some time on Wednesday morning to check out some local baseball spots. After a quick Google Maps search of baseball fields near my hotel, I found Reverchon Recreation Park and took the short drive to check it out. I was happy to see the park entrance was open and there was a clear path to the baseball field. I found some parking in the adjacent lot and approached the front gate area to get a close up view of Reverchon Baseball Park.

As I approached the front gate area, I noticed a City of Dallas Parks and Recreation vehicle parked on the sidewalk. And said hello to a Parks and Rec employee preparing to work on the field. The gate was locked and I asked the employee if I could enter the field to take a few photos. He unlocked the gate, we chatted for a bit, and I hustled up and into the wooden bleachers to snag a few views and some photos of Reverchon Park.

Here in Hampton Roads, we are so blessed to have War Memorial Stadium in Hampton, which features wooden bleachers and that classic old school baseball field look. Reverchon Park had that same vibe – wooden bleachers, ceiling fan, and the feel of a baseball park with decades of games and baseball experiences. The city landscape in the background accompanying the natural beauty of Reverchon Park’s trees and creeks makes this baseball field so unique and interesting.

I loved the view from inside the park and took a moment to read some of the plaques that line the front gate area. Turns out Reverchon has a very distinct history in the story of Dallas baseball history. From women’s baseball to American Legion teams, from Senior Men’s Baseball to the Federal League, Reverchon Park has played host to a ton of great baseball in the City of Dallas. And that tradition continues, according to the Parks and Rec employee, the local High School JV Baseball team will call Reverchon Park home for the 2026 season. One last note, according to the plaques, lights were added to Reverchon in 1931, so there has been day and night baseball there for almost a century. Wow, what a find.
After exiting the ballfield area and thanking the Parks and Rec employee, I continued around the perimeter of Reverchon to see the park from the outside. I was able to find a path all the way around the field and back to the parking lot area where my rental car was. I loved the woods, the creek running just past the outfield fencing, and the feeling that in a big city like Dallas there could be a wonderful park oasis for families to enjoy.

Reverchon Baseball Park is a classic, old-school wooden bleacher wonder and I was so psyched to spend a few minutes touring it. Reverchon has a wonderful baseball history and has hosted teams from the Federal League, Women’s Baseball, American Legion, and now will host a local High School JV baseball club. The weather cooperated, the parks and rec employee was very helpful and friendly, and the ballpark looked absolutely amazing and baseball ready. Overall, it was a fantastic Dallas baseball experience at Reverchon Baseball Park.
