The Baseball Storyteller Stories Come Alive In Show And Tell Event

I have been involved with baseball in some capacity for nearly 50 years and running. I have played, coached, mentored, scouted, and written about baseball since I was roughly elementary school age. Over the decades, I have accumulated many, many baseball treasures and have written about most of them here on this blog site. And now, I will be showcasing some of my coolest items in a new format for 2026 and beyond through the joy of show and tell events. And I am inviting you, the public, to join me in sharing your baseball memorabilia as well. Here is an example:

Have you ever seen a Major League baseball up close and personal? If so, where did you catch yours? Did you have to hustle against other potentials to get your baseball? Do you remember who hit it or who the two teams were? What was the name of the stadium? Who did you go to the game with? What do you remember about the game, the ball, the day, that you can share with others?

Here is another example:

Here is a baseball address list book that my Uncle Johnny gave me when I was a teenager. Inside this book is an internet before the internet of information on where a particular Major League Baseball player, manager, umpire, or executive can be addressed. I read through this book and checked out where my favorite player made their home. It is a cool reference book that is pre-internet and super fun.

Do you have a cool piece of sports memorabilia that you would like to show and tell to other baseball fans? Do you have a cool ticket or program or lamp or blanket that has both historical and personal value? Have you told your family, your friends, your co-workers the story of your cool Red Sox Baseball lamp from the 1970s and need a new audience to share your cool item with? Like this one…

I am so excited to host and promote my first show and tell event happening here in Virginia Beach, VA in the new year. The event will take place at the Bayside Library, just off Independence Blvd. on Saturday January 17th from 11am to 12noon in the Media Room. There will be a sign up form up soon, as the event is limited to 40 people. For the event, I am looking for folks to share baseball items, memorabilia, jerseys, etc. that are easy to transport into and out of the library. For more information on the types of items I am looking for, simply email me through the contact form below. I will be posting more information on the event in the weeks leading up to the January 17th event. General public is welcome, free event, kid friendly, senior friendly.
