2025 produced another zillion or so baseball memories for me. I traveled north, south, east, and west in search of cool baseball fields, awesome baseball stadiums, and interesting baseball sights. I was so lucky to have the opportunity to visit many baseball parks, tour the inside and grounds, and take some choice photos from a wide range of fan views. And the ones that were closed, I found a cool path around the perimeter of each field and grabbed what photos I could to record the visit. As I have in the past, I have compiled a list of fields from A to Z that caught my eye and attention in 2025. So, without further delay, here is my 2025 A To Z Baseball Field Experience Gallery of Photos…

A – Alamo Heights Little League, San Antonio, TX – caught an awesome sandlot game there featuring the San Antonio Roses vs. Eastside Huevos
B – Block Stadium, East Chicago, Indiana, home of the East Chicago Thunder. Block Stadium’s redo was partially funded by MLB great Kenny Lofton, an East Chicago native.

C – Christopher Newport University, Newport News, VSA – attended a game there in March featuring the CNU Captains vs. the Coast Guard Academy.
D – Deep River Grinders Field, Hobart, Indiana – caught a memorable vintage base ball game there at Grinders Field featuring Grinders vs. Vermillion Voles

E – Edinberg Baseball Stadium on the campus of University of Texas – Rio Grande Valley, Edinberg, TX. Impressive facility from home plate to centerfield, foul pole to foul pole
F – Frisco RoughRiders Stadium, Frisco, TX. February visit so no live games, so I walked the stadium’s outside perimeter. Hey, there’s a pool in there!

G – Globe Life Field, Arlington, TX – not to be confused with the stadium across the street (literally) which was called Globe Life Park. Nolan Ryan statue in front of ticket office, awesome.
H – Homerun Dugout, Katy, TX – I took a guided tour of Homerun Dugout and got to take a few swings in their batting cages. Amazing experience, absolute must go to if you are close by.

I – NW Indiana Oilmen Stadium, Whiting, Indiana – toured Oil City Stadium, formerly Standard Diamonds Stadium in July before a local travel baseball showcase tournament.
J – Joliet Slammers Stadium, Joliet, Illinois – attended a Joliet Slammer vs. Gateway Grizzlies game this summer. Both teams play in the Frontier Professional Baseball League.

K – Texas A&M – Kingsville Baseball Javelina Stadium, home of Nolan Ryan Field, Kingsville, TX. Of course I had to stop in and see Nolan Ryan Field.
L – Legacy Fields, Crown Point, Indiana – caught a Lake County Corn Dogs baseball game at Legacy Fields this summer.

M – Marty Miller Field, home of the Norfolk State University Spartans Baseball club. Attended four or five games at Marty Miller in 2025.
N – Notre Dame University, South Bend, Indiana. A baseball cathedral amongst an entire campus of beautiful buildings, stadiums, and landscape. What an Irish experience!

O – Ozinga Field, home of the Windy City Thunderbolts, Crestwood, IL. Had a chance to tour the stadium with their media director and chat baseball players past and present from the Windy City.
P – Polar Park, Worcester, MA – got to see a Woo Sox game vs. Syracuse Mets with my son, Harrison in April. Great family moment.

Q – Didn’t have any Q memories to speak of, so here is a photo gallery of random stuff…

R – Richmond Flying Squirrels home stadium, The Diamond. Caught a URI vs VCU Rams (both teams) game there in the Spring. The Diamond entertained fans for the last time this year. It will be replaced in 2026.
S – Scotland Yard, Highland Park High School, Dallas, TX. Highland Park has a very impressive roster of athletes who are HPHS alums – Clayton Kershaw, Matthew Stafford, Scottie Scheffler to name a few.

T – University of Texas – Austin’s UFCU Disch-Falk Field, Austin, TX. Closed but still got to walk the perimeter of the stadium, check out their national title banners, and see parts of the stadium from the sidewalks of UT.
U – University of South Florida, Tampa, FL. Red McEwen Field was open and I walked around the entire stadium in January with just a T-shirt and jeans.

V – Valparaiso University, Valpo, Indiana. Beautiful August afternoon when I arrived at Emory Bauer Field to take in the Valpo Baseball field.
W – Williamsburg, VA’s William & Mary Baseball Field, Plumeri Park. Visited the stadium several times in 2025 for game days and non-game days as well.

X – OBX or Outer Banks Flying Dutchmen’s First Flight Baseball Field, Kill Devil Hills, NC. Attended a Old North State League game there this summer featuring the Flying Dutchmen vs. the Edenton Steamers.
Y – The Yard, Perfect Game Baseball Complex, Houston, TX – visited this complex on one of my Houston exploring days and found a real treasure there in The Yard.

Z – Samardzija Field, Valparaiso, Indiana. Amazing youth baseball park located just outside the main street area of Valpo. Valpo and Notre Dame University legend Jeff Samardzija helped fund the park and complex.
Honorable mentions:

Phew, that was exhausting. No time to rest, I have a zillion more places to explore in 2026. I’m checking my maps and schedule and fuel gauge and will be camera ready and baseball ready in no time. And I will share it all here on the Baseball Storyteller blog and social media pages.
