SCABL Box Scores And Game Recaps – Summer Baseball Ain’t Over Yet Edition

Admittedly, I have been traveling more often than I have been home for the past month or so. One of the unfortunate drawbacks to travel – less time to check out summer collegiate and amateur baseball league news around the USA. There have been titles won, champions crowned, and a host of summer league players and interns heading back home or to school. But, there are still a few titles and championships yet to be decided, so let’s continue to celebrate all the amazing SCABL players, coaches, interns, and families until the very last pitch of the last official summer baseball game happens, shall we? And in the process, let’s review some of the winners of this summer season, 2025.

I have to start with one of, if not the best Instagram page in all of summer collegiate and amateur baseball. Yes, I am talking about the team of creative baseball geniuses at NABA – Richmond. Here is another outstanding post promoting their upcoming World Series, featuring the Tappahannock Tides vs. Richmond El Heaters. It has been so fun reading and viewing this page all summer. Definitely worth the follow, no matter where you watch baseball from.

Congratulations to the New England Collegiate Baseball League’s Keene SwampBats, the 2025 NECBL Champions. The SwampBats defeated the Martha’s Vineyard Sharks closed out the regular season and playoffs in style to win the coveted Fay Vincent Cup. Congrats to all the players, coaches, interns, and families of the Keene SwampBats.

The Futures Collegiate Baseball League has just (as of yesterday August 10) started their 2025 playoffs, with two games scheduled. Vermont put up 8 unanswered in their win over New Britain. And Norwich edged out Worcester 8-4 in Game 1 action. More FCL playoff action today as Game 2 of each team’s series continues. Best of luck to all the players, coaches, interns, and families today in FCL game action.

The Wilson Tobs are your 2025 Coastal Plain League Champions. The Tobs defeated the Forest City Owls and swept the championship series to win the coveted Petitt Cup. I was lucky enough to see the Tobs this summer as they faced my (sort of) hometown Peninsula Pilots at historic War Memorial Stadium, Hampton, VA. The Coastal Plain League is an awesome summer collegiate baseball league with top tier talent, great fans, and tons of wonderful family entertainment night after night, game after game. Congrats to all the Wilson Tobs players, coaches, interns, and families.

The Tarboro River Bandits are the 2025 Old North State League champions. Tarboro defeated the Lexington Flying Pigs in the championship series. I was lucky enough to catch a number of ONSL games this summer in Edenton and on the Outer Banks. Great summer baseball league with fantastic fans and historic baseball parks. Congrats to all the River Bandits players, coaches, interns, and families on your 2025 Championship run!

For any fans living in and around Cape Cod, this is going to be a big one!!! Cape Cod Baseball League Championship finals is set and features the Bourne Braves vs. Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox. Many of the players participating in this game will be top MLB draft picks in the years to come. So, if you have the time and can find parking, get out to the Cape and check out this amazing matchup of top tier summer collegiate baseball teams.

Although the Northwoods League Madison Mallards did not secure a playoff spot for this year’s championship series, they have most definitely secured a million or more memories for baseball fans attending their games. I absolutely love what the Mallards represent on the field, in the stands, with the fans, with the community of Madison. Top tier summer collegiate baseball organization and one I will be following every summer from here on out. Congratulations to all the Mallards players, coaches, interns, and families on a very successful 2025 season.

And finally, you can still follow the George Donnelly Sunset League (Newport, RI) on their YouTube page as the GDSL playoff season kicks into high gear. Yesterday (August 10), Town Dock took it to the Scorpions 10-0. Today’s game features Offshore vs. R&R Construction. A Rhode Island, heck a USA tradition of baseball in Newport that spans well over a century there at historic Cardines Field.

Time permitting, weather permitting I am not done yet with summer baseball games. If I have the time and the opportunity, I am going to take full advantage and head to a local baseball game. You should do the same. It is fantastic baseball, affordable, and you will be supporting amateur baseball players striving to get to their ultimate professional baseball goals. See you at the ballpark!!!
