June has been a weather nightmare for baseball scheduling so far from Tee Ball games to the Major Leagues. And including summer collegiate and amateur baseball leagues (SCABL) games nationwide. With just 2 plus months to play these games before school starts (college), leagues have to scramble and sometimes play doubleheaders to fit the games in. Or, simply postpone to a later day and hopefully not cancel them altogether. There is just too much great talent out there for fans to witness, so here’s hoping the next stretch of June produces more games than rainouts. Here are some of the SCABL schedules, box scores, and game recaps I have been following the past few days:
Ok, I admit it. I pretty much start my day on IG looking for the NABA Richmond post of the morning. Here is today’s, featuring the Virginia Aces vs the Richmond Misfits. Love the artwork and the creativity here:
Here are the weekend scores from the New England Collegiate Baseball League. Saturday games featuring only one rainout/postponement, which is awesome for NECBL fans. And Sunday’s games featured another round in the Pell Series pitting the Ocean State Waves vs. the Newport Gulls – two teams separated by the Newport Pell Bridge. Waves win this one at home on Father’s Day, 9-5. Box score below.

For those of you like me who were glued to the NCAA Baseball Tournament this weekend, here is your up to the day bracket. This tournament screams “it ain’t over, ’til it’s over,” with several big run innings shocking opponents late. And with the double elimination format, just about every team left still has a shot at the CWS Finals next weekend.
Some scores from the Old North State League on Saturday. Busy schedule of games, with only 2 postponed. North Carolina, Virginia has been really hit hard in June with storms. So getting this many games in on Saturday was huge. A couple of big time, offensive firepower displays in games featuring Oak Island Loggerheads, Wilkes County Moonshiners, and the Hendersonville Honeycrisps.
Father’s Day featured eight games in the Coastal Plain League. Looks like some close contests across the board. Psyched to see so many games being played and completed.
Cape Cod Baseball League kicked off its 2025 season this weekend. There are still a ton of players signed on to CCBL teams that are playing in the College World Series, so these rosters will change a bit in about a week’s time. Still, it is awesome to see how the best in college baseball fare against each other on the fields of Cape Cod. Red Wilson Field, home of the Y-D Red Sox of the CCBL, is a must stop baseball field this summer. The crowds, the food, the play on the field – it is just such a cool baseball experience!

And speaking of the Cape Cod Baseball League, they (appear to) have a new format on their website for game scores, recaps, box scores, etc. It is similar to the MLB and MILB Gameday recaps you might see following your favorite professional teams. I love it, it is a very clean look and gives a ton of information. Here is the link to the scores page, like this one below – Cape Cod Baseball League scores.

3 for 3 yesterday in the Futures League. Westfield with a 12 spot over Norwich. Nashua edging New Britain 7-3. And Worcester squeaking by Vermont 9-8. I remember going to a Norwich Sea Unicorns game a few years back on Father’s Day. Awesome time, great stadium, definitely check it out this summer!

Upcoming schedule for the Tidewater Summer League’s Greenbrier Knights, including a few road games and a TSL showdown at Hampton’s War Memorial Stadium vs. the VB Valor:
And finally, in case you missed it, here is the YouTube broadcast of the George Donnelly Sunset League game featuring R&R Construction vs. Mudville. I watched a good portion of this game the other day and just love that these games are available for viewing. I miss Newport, RI in the summer months. Nothing like it!!!
And as always, if you have a box score, game recap, or schedule update for your SCABL team, send it to me. I post free and often and with a big smile on my face!!!
