SCABL Box Scores And Game Recaps – June 7, 2025

This morning, June 8, I would like to start off by wishing my youngest son Harrison a very Happy Birthday. Harrison still loves baseball and is quite the statistician when it comes to the modern game. Plus, he loves fishing which bears the reference to the great Ted Williams, who loved both baseball and fishing. Happy 20th Harry, all the best!

Alright, Saturday June 7th was another busy day and night of summer collegiate and amateur baseball league (SCABL) games throughout the national network of teams. Rain was in the forecast for most of the eastern US, the South, and it did play havoc on some region’s schedules. Still, a ton of summer left for makeup games. Here are the games and teams and players I am following this morning:

First off, my apologies for misreporting the scores from the Old North State League yesterday. There may have been a delay in their game score release and I re-posted their June 6 scores on yesterday’s update page after my initial publish. So, if you read my blog yesterday morning, go back and re-read to see game scores for the ONSL for June 6th. Here are the posted scores for last night’s game action.

Was hoping to get down to Edenton, NC last night for this game. Rachel and I watched the weather forecast all day and it looked pretty bad. I’m psyched that the River Skippers and the Steamers got this one in. Weather permitting, Monday looks like the next opportunity to visit Hicks Field.

Whoa, 20 hits combining for 25 runs in the Geneva Red Wings vs. Batavia Muckdogs game in the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League (PGCBL) last night. Add to those eye popping stats, a combine 23 runners left on base. Wow, what an offensive showing. Batavia wins this one by a run over Geneva – 13-12.

The Peninsula Pilots are skyrocketing out of the gate in 2025. 7 games played, 7 wins in the highly competitive Coastal Plain League. Great start to the season Pilots!

Here are the rest of the scores from the Coastal Plain League last night:

Who wins in a contest featuring Woodchucks vs. Mallards? In this contest in the Northwoods League, the answer is Mallards. A 14-3 victory at the Duck Pond last night for the Madison Mallards.

I mentioned rain was a huge factor on the Eastern side of the US yesterday. Case in point, all but two games played in the NECBL (New England Collegiate Baseball League) yesterday. Many more coming today, weather permitting of course. Here are the scores from last night and today’s scheduled games in the NECBL.

More SCABL news from New England, this time it is the Futures League scores and recaps. Here are the games played yesterday, with one game postponed in the Futures League:

Finishing up with one more bit of New England baseball news, check out the Island Baseball League, who plays competitive 18+ amateur baseball out of Middletown and Newport, RI. The IBL is an awesome league with a very family friendly atmosphere at the games. Check out their website and schedule of games at www.islandbaseball.com. And this YouTube video celebrating their recent 10 year anniversary.

And as always, if you have a box score, game recap, photos, or news from your SCABL team or league, send it my way. I am happy to share your SCABL news on my baseball blog and social media pages.
