SCABL Box Scores And Game Recaps – June 1, 2025

May signifies the start of many summer collegiate and amateur baseball leagues throughout the USA. June, well that brings the energy and intensity and action to a whole different level. Case in point, June 1 was a very busy day and night of baseball action. Here are a few box scores and game recaps I am checking on this morning:

From the Old North State League’s social media pages, “THE FLOODGATES ARE OPEN… Runs galore in the ONSL as seven teams score in the double-digits, including a 30-run thriller in River City.” And here are those scores from yesterday’s busy day at the parks of VA and NC:

And a great IG post from the Edenton Steamers:

The Peninsula Pilots, fresh off a very entertaining Saturday night win, were back at it on the road in Richmond vs. the Tri-City Chili Peppers. Somebody is 4-0!!!!

Trio of games in the NABA Richmond league on Sunday and a busy schedule of games this week in the Richmond, VA area:

Check out this awesome promo from Athletics outfielder and former Newport Gulls standout JJ Bleday, on playing for the Gulls and the NECBL. Top collegiate talent lands on the rosters of the New England Collegiate Baseball League every single summer. I have personally watched players play in a game, then be signed as free agents into professional baseball the next day. The NECBL is an amazing baseball experience for players, families, and fans!

I follow @mbptakover aka Minority Prospects Inc on IG and saw they had a weekend of HBCU baseball and softball events, including All-Star games. And the best part, a youth clinic with a huge attendance to help get the next generations of baseball and softball excited about their prospects of playing major college sports. The weekend long events took place in Kannapolis, North Carolina.

Having 3 rain postponed games be the story for the Futures League on Saturday, Sunday produced 4 games, with two teams playing (and splitting) a doubleheader. Here are the scores and box score recaps for the Futures League on Sunday:

Last year, I had the opportunity to visit Dwyer Stadium in Batavia, NY and attend a Batavia Muckdogs game. The Muckdogs play in the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League (PGCBL) and play at historic Dwyer Stadium, which is a real throw back, old school baseball park with a ton of baseball tradition. I had an amazing time at the game and still follow the Muckdogs on IG. Here is a post from their Instagram page from last night’s extra inning win vs. the Jamestown Tarp Skunks:

And finally, for the baseball historian, check out this incredible post from the George Donnelly Sunset League out of Newport, RI. The league has been operating since 1919, wow what a baseball tradition there in Rhode Island.

Got a summer collegiate or amateur baseball league box score or game recap from your league that you would like me to share? Great, send it to me today, tomorrow, and all summer long!
