Last week, I found myself in the midwestern cold of Milwaukee, Wisconsin for work (ABF Freight). After a very satisfying morning of baseball experiences at American Family Field and nearby Helfaer Field, I decided to attempt the trifecta with another Milwaukee baseball experience. This one had my head spinning, as it combined baseball, skiing, and the holiday season all in one special complex. Come with me as I share you with my trip to Franklin Field.

Driving up the long driveway to Franklin Field, I noticed a ton of activity in the complex. There was a golf range, possibly a Top Golf, on the far side of the parking lot. To my right, was a ski lodge looking area and a ski slope. And a beautiful baseball diamond located (seemingly) at the bottom of the slope. Without leaving my car, I was already blown away by this complex.

Peering through the wind channel tarps on the outfield fence, I saw that Franklin Field had been transformed for the Snow Globe Holiday Festival, presented by Enchant. The newly transformed field was filled with decorations, winter displays, and some amazing artistic structures for families of all ages to get into the holiday spirit. Franklin Field, like many I have visited in the off season, did an incredible job transforming from a baseball field to a holiday season spectacular. The festival is taking place now until December 30th, if you happen to live in or around the Franklin, WI area.

“The Milwaukee Milkmen,” according to their website, “are an independent professional baseball organization,” who play their games in the American Association of Professional Baseball, which is an official partner league of Major League Baseball. Here is a YouTube video from their website showcasing their team and why the community is “udderly” over the top about their Milkmen.
As I walked up to the front gate area, I noticed that the field was locked up and the only views I would get were from the perimeter. No worries, I kind of expect this in the off season months. I did manage to get some cool shots of the exterior, the front gate area, and the scoreboard announcing the holiday event.

Down the hill from Franklin was another beautiful baseball field. For early December, I have to say the field look absolutely incredible. And the location of it just down the hill from the ski slope, that was a really cool find!

What an amazing transformation – from baseball field hosting the Milwaukee Milkmen baseball club to Snow Globe Holiday Festival. Franklin Field looked incredible in December, and I was so impressed by the entire sports complex there in Franklin. Top Golf, baseball, skiing, walking trails – this area had it all. Plus, it was right down the street from one of my favorite restaurants, First Watch, which added to how awesome my afternoon was. With the wind chills dropping and my tolerance for cold dropping with it, I was so psyched to catch a glimpse of Franklin Field, home of the Milkmen. It was the perfect ending to a memorable Milwaukee day of baseball experiences.
