Exciting Updates On Baseball Players I follow – Flint, Perachi, Raposo, Pannone

I am so excited to promote this new feature on my newly designed website, The Baseball Storyteller’s “Players I Follow” page. Periodically and when big news occurs, I will be posting exciting updates on players I follow. It could be a player I covered when I was in Rhode Island. Or a player I recently met and interviewed here in Hampton Roads. Or a player I just follow because they are baseball awesome – on and off the field. Here are some exciting updates on players I follow with a Rhode Island connection:

I just read a recently posted article on MILB.com which featured end of the year honors for the High-A Level of Major League Baseball. Included on this list is former Salve Regina University star, Dominic Perachi. Perachi started his 2024 season with the High-A Greensboro Grasshoppers of the Pittsburgh Pirates organization. He has since been promoted (August 6, 2024) to Pirate’s AA club, the Altoona Curve. Awesome to see Dom moving up the Pirates organization!

Tucker Flint, after a very successful 2024 AA campaign with the Rocket City Trash Pandas (Los Angeles Angels), has been promoted to AAA Salt Lake Bees. Flint was promoted on September 8, according to the Salt Lake Bees’ team page. He has played the last few weeks defensively in the outfield and at 1st base. And has gotten all the “firsts” out of the way – first hit, first run scored, first home run – at the AAA level. And I love that he continues to play multiple positions defensively. Great season Tucker, amazing that you are one step away from the Show now!!!

Finally, there could be another installment of a Rhode Island Pitcher vs a Rhode Island Hitter in professional baseball tonight. The Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders will face the Buffalo Bison tonight at Sahlen Field, Buffalo. On the mound for the RailRiders is RI’s Thomas Pannone. Potentially in the lineup for the Bison is RI’s Nick Raposo. Both played their high school baseball in Rhode Island – Pannone went to Bishop Hendricken High School, Raposo went to Johnston High School. So, if the stars align and I hope they do, we will have another historic matchup of Rhode Island Pitcher vs a Rhode Island hitter.

Stay tuned for more “Players I Follow” updates as the 2024 season winds down at the MILB and MLB levels.
