Rhode Island’s Thomas Pannone Putting Together Impressive Season for Iowa Cubs

I admit it. Despite relocating to Virginia Beach and with all due respect to the multitudes of baseball players and talent here in Hampton Roads, I still find myself checking box scores for Rhode Island players, teams, leagues, and those amazing RI Baseball Experiences. The Northeast path to professional baseball isn’t quite the same as the paths down south, southeast, southwest, etc. because of the weather factor. So, when a Northeaster, New Englander, Rhode Island based player makes in professional baseball, to me, it’s a big deal. Which is why I still check on and root for players like Bishop Hendricken High School, RI Gatorade Player of the Year (2012), Providence Journal Player of the Decade (2010-2020), Cranston RI’s Thomas Pannone.

Rhode Island went nuts when Pannone made his Major League debut with the Toronto Blue Jays in 2018. After a few seasons up (and down) with the Toronto Blue Jays and their AAA Affiliate Buffalo Bisons, Pannone went on to play/pitch for several organizations including the Boston Red Sox (Worcester), Milwaukee Brewers (Nashville Sounds), and the Los Angeles Angels (Salt Lake Angels). Pannone had a stint in the Korean Baseball Organization with the Kia Tigers (his record in the KBO was 9-7 over 2 seasons). Pannone had a call up to the Milwaukee Brewers last season. Amazing!!!

Fast forward to this season, Pannone is having a very productive season with the Iowa Cubs, the AAA Affiliate of the Chicago Cubs. Check out his stats below…

With stops in Buffalo, Worcester, Salt Lake City, Warwick, Cranston, Las Vegas, Korea, Milwaukee, Toronto, Des Moines – Let’s call it like it is…The baseball journey of Rhode Island’s Thomas Pannone has had many stops. Let’s hope Pannone stays healthy, stays sharp on the mound, and continues his baseball journey to the corner of N Sheffield Ave. and W Addison St., Chicago, Illinois and the Chicago Cubs. I will be checking the Iowa Cubs box scores and checking out Cubs transactions and looking forward to seeing the name Thomas Pannone in their very near future. Let’s go Lefty!!!
