Rhode Island Stay-Cation Baseball Schedule for Wednesday April 20

Good morning Rhode Island Baseball Community. It is a balmy 41° this morning here in Rhode Island and I know this because I just walked around my freezing cold yard with Rookie and Nora. For those of you in the stay-cation category this week locally here in Rhode Island, here are a bunch of awesome baseball games scheduled for today, Wednesday April 20th that will surely fire up your baseball soul.

There were a lot of Rhode Island High School baseball games rescheduled from yesterday (4-19) to today because of the driving morning rains and the high winds. Check your school’s athletic page for confirmation, but here is a snapshot of scheduled games from the Rhode Island Interscholastic League’s baseball page:

Northeastern University visits Bryant University today at Conaty Park. Pilgrim High School and Bryant standout Matt Woods was just named the NEC (Northeast Conference) Co-Player of the week. His stats, courtesy of the Bryant Baseball Twitter page “Woods hit .556, slugged 1.111 with 2 doubles, a triple, 2 home runs, 10 RBIs, and 7 runs scored in 4 games. He went 8-11 with 6 runs and 5 RBIs over the last 2 games of Bryant’s series win over Merrimack.”

Curry College comes to Newport’s Reynolds Field to face Salve Regina University. Salve Baseball has won 5 of their last 6 games, including 2 doubleheader sweeps to run their record to 15-8-2, 8-02 in the conference. Also wanted to congratulate Head Coach Eric Cirella on this 200th Win at Salve Regina University!

Have a great day wherever you are. And if you are in Rhode Island and are playing or cheering or working at a baseball game today, dress warmly and maybe I will see at the ballpark!!!
